Flier Plastic Take-Back Event (8.5 × 11 in).pdf.png

JOIN US FOR A NATIONAL TAKE-BACK EVENT AT TRADER JOE'S!!

FoCo Trash Mob (now a Beyond Plastic affiliate!) invites you to join us in making sure that Trader Joe's gets the message about the excessive single-use plastic packaging they use during plastic-free July.

How? By taking it back to them!

With 15 million metric tons of plastic entering our ocean every year, it's clear that we need to stop making and using so much plastic. Plastic recycling is also a big old myth that cannot solve our plastic pollution crisis. But it's nearly impossible to shop at Trader Joe's without bringing home a massive amount of plastic packaging. We want to buy food, not plastic!! It doesn't need to be this way. Many common-sense alternatives already exist. But companies will not implement them if WE don't demand it!

So as part of Plastic Free July, we're going to tell Trader Joe's that we don't want their plastic! Will you join us? Scroll down to learn more about the event, and how you can participate from ANYWHERE (Trader Joes' in your area or not!)

You can STILL participate!

JUST SEND IT BACK

Can't join an in-person trash mob? Send a piece of Trader Joe's plastic back to them in an envelope/package along with our letter to the CEO on or near July 23rd! Here are the NATIONAL events, or just send your plastic item back around July 23rd.

Download the letter, print it and sign it. Then enclose it with your Trader Joe's plastic item.

VIRTUAL MOBBING

The best part of this action? You can participate from your armchair AND don't need to have any plastic from Trader Joes'! Follow any of the prompts below to bring attention to Trader Joe's and their excessive use of plastic.

A key part of a trash mob is that it's a concentrated effort. So mark your calendars and share the information around July 23rd.

Suggestions for sharing on social media will be shared closer to the July 23rd mob.
